Seems that this boar has avoided the game camera for a little more than a year. He’s still out there in the San Diego River headwaters area. To me it looks like he has grown longer hair and is definitely becoming more boar than pig. I’m hoping to get a shot on him during deer season but he’s proven to be a needle in a haystack. Not sure if he has a wide territory or exactly why he only passes the camera once per year.4297AEB6-C767-46E8-A828-2E0E5D814E8E.jpeg83FE7BB9-4347-4253-96D2-BD90BAF16D34.png

Definitely a good find.
Yep some are still a round
Making it even though the drought.
Seems like two different pigs

There is supposedly only one pig left in that area (after the eradication) and it’s a male. Last year’s picture is a male but maybe this year’s picture is a female (doesn’t seem to have the big bump on its rump). Otherwise I thought the changes were just from age and environment. Hair color difference is probably just from the infrared camera.

After the big snow Fall couple of years ago. I had pig tracks. But never seen them again. In private property only.

These pigs are big and fast, before CFW was out to eradicate them . My old partner and I had gone to one of his spot. We saw a black pig early morning, at daylight. Run up a steep mountain with in seconds. We were like WTF. It was there and gone. It went down very thick and steep terrain. All most in possible to to track.

Cool! Since they are prolific breeders, if there were a male and female wouldn’t there be more pigs out there by now?

Awesome find. With the amount of thick country we have in so cal (especially in the headwaters area), I’m sure there could be more than 1 out there eluding everyone. I’m sure they can burrow tunnels through big brush and never come out in the open.
