Okie, I was with 3rd ID at Wurzburg in northern Bavaria from 79-81.

True that, the 70s were the greatest era for creativity and originality in me humble opinion.
I like the 70’s but I think the creativity and originality was kicking ass in the 60’s. The Stones, the Beatles, the Doors, Creedence, Jimmi Hendrix, Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, Beach Boys and at least a couple hundred more.

i think the real reason this generation is so upset is
because their music sucks. jmho

IMHO....they saw their parents losing their jobs, probably their homes, getting a divorce, and unable to retire. So they went to college and got in debt with student loans, they got a 60+ hrs job a week, no pension, shitty 401k match, no job security, lame health benefits, underpaid and overworked...what's to be upset about? and yeah the music sucks.

just between me and you,i think it's because younger people dont seriously think about their responsibilities. if their life sucks, its always somebody else's fault. judging by the way i have
made my life like it is, i didn't just 'go with the flow'. after high school, Didn't graduate, failed
last semester of American History, joined the navy, got my GED, and associate degree at Pensacola jr
college while in the navy. made all my decisions that affected my life. imho, younger people are not taught/made to be more responsible for their actions and find other reasons to blame their life on
the faults of others. imho, the fault lies with both the parents and children. like BLM, not just black
lives but all lives matter. BLM only comes up when a police officer has a problem with a black person.
i have a black son-in-law, he's a policeman for Alameda country i think. if this BLM group was really
serious about this they would be in detroit and chicago where the black on black killings are the highest,
but you dont hear anything about that just when a white police officer has a problem with a black person. jmho. be safe

Okie you are spot on. The key is that many younger people (not all but many) make poor decisions and then blame others for the consequences of their decisions. A great example are the people who go to college and rack up giant college loans/debt and major in something that gives them no job skills. How poor of a decision is it to take out $100000 in student Loans and major in for example Gender studies, or Art history, or the psychology of poor women in compton ca. Etc etc. They complain after college that they can’t get a job, well what the hell does your degree prepare you for? Nothing. And what was the decision process when they took out the loans? Did they think that the debt would magically disappear after graduation? They think someone else should pay for their poor decisions. Most of the other things listed above are also the individuals fault. Got a lousy job, long hours, poor 401k? No one is making you work there. Go to work elsewhere, Change companies, get into a different line of work, get training for a different career path. There are numerous alternatives. No one owes you anything but a level playing field. We have the freedom here to do and be what we want to be. It’s really about the decisions we make throughout life.

There are a couple of easy ways to avoid huge college debt, not for all but for many. Two simple ways you can save major on college costs - Go to Jr College your first 2 years and live at home. Cheap and easy peasy. Second if possible transfer to a university in your area and again live at home. And (I know this is radical to even suggest) get a part time job to defray costs. This is what I did many many years ago and I graduated debt free. I grew up in Oakland California and there were at least a dozen universities I could attend and drive to. That what I did. Parents are partly to blame too for allowing or sending their kids to expensive universities that they can’t afford.

haha you guys are old! Gotta appreciate music across multiple generations and not just from when you were in your teens and 20's...not that I like the music today either. ;)
Yep I’m am old guy and I’m eclectic in my music choices. I do like music from the 70’s and 80’s . But the 60’s were when I came of age, my fondest memories are from then including the music. But I like blues, country, rock and roll from all times. Even like classical. Only music I can’t stand , it is not music to me is hiphop/rap.

Didn't the Tavern owner in BLUES BROTHERS say " we have both Country and we have Western music" ?
