I just started the cornerstone dog academy for my 8 week pup. It mentions not giving them any toys to chew due to bite issues? Is this realistic or is there something you can give them? First gun dog in training.

Puppies start teething at about 12 weeks...I have given my labs deer antlers or those nylon bones...Ask your vet too...I would NEVER let him have soft toys, shoes, etc.................:blush:

If your pup is an indoor dog...HE WILL FIND THINGS TO CHEW ON!...Trust me........... :scream:

A black Kong of the appropriate size and an appropriate bone.
As the dog gets adult teeth it will need something to chew on to clean its teeth; otherwise, you will have to regularly brush your dogs teeth to prevent tooth decay.
You don't have to leave these with the dog all the time and can give them intermittently under supervision.

PS: dogs that don't have the needed mental stimulus and companionship will find, typically destructive, outlets.

im going thru cornerstone as well. I let him play with socks tennis balls and any non squeeky toys i can get. Cow bones keep em distracted for quite a long while too
 
ok so that is two of you paying for this cornerstone....
