Trail Cams....thumbs up or down?

I like them for the off season, I have a couple cams out and haven’t checked them since end of September. They in areas I don’t hunt. Always cool to see what comes through

Dont need um from the truck...thats for sure...bet if a guy was to set a few up on the roads though he,d see some bombers.

I would rather get high and glass it’s just more fun for me.

But it is fun to pull a few cards in the offseason and see game.

I have spotted a few cameras out in the woods while hunting and I did not care for it.

There is something about the lack of privacy that rubs me the wrong way. Not that I am doing anything wrong but, do I really want my picture going around without my consent? What if I am taking a dump...lol ? or what if I am getting frisky in the woods with my lady? What is she needs to pee?.. I would be fuming if a camera was to catch a picture without my knowledge.

Well the obvious answer is if I caught you on camera doing any of those things I would blur your face before I shared it in SCH.

Do you set up a gopro on the truck to capture all the live action? You could even make a youtube out of it called roadkillin.

I'm in the same boat as drew. However, if I had a few good acres of private I would probably reconsider.

Locally in San Diego in limited use, sure, why not? The problem is when you see 6-10 cameras in one small area. Some are left out by people who never retrieve them.. same as stands. In Arizona the problem Ive heard is 20-30 cameras on waterholes and the Guides who have 100's of cameras all over the place making it difficult for the average joe. I personally have a few cameras but I hardly put them out anymore and I surely dont leave them there all year.

As a non res I think it levels the playing field somewhat. If I was a local I would be mad as all hell. My preferred method of scouting is time in the field, and game cameras Trump that unfortunately.
