I always heard that when it rains turkeys are so dumb that they look up and drowned. The turkeys I hunt are a lot smarter than that though. If you find any of those dumb ones its a good spot.

Think about how you'd feel, if someone threw water on you at that romantic moment........
If the rain is really heavy, I've seen birds that don't leave the roost trees till really late in the morning or not at all. If heavy winds accompany the rain, they'll actually change trees to something a little lower and thicker.
Tomorrow should be OK with intermittent rain predicted. Very little gobbling, and of course, the hens will be huddled together. This is the kind of weather that puts the halt to breeding and spring dispersal.
Snow seems to be different.....I've seen pretty good activity right after snows. Especially when the sun comes out.

I hate turkey hunting in the rain but they will gobble and answer calls never the less. It's a bit harder to hear them but best tactic is to wait for them in a open area where they frequent. Turkeys tend to stay out in the open during adverse weather conditions.

Yes. it is.......Wish I could copy some older pix of birds in the rain & snow........Tough sledding hunting in the rain or snow. It's more about being in the right place at the right time from my experience......Right after when the sun comes out can be great.
