Met up with lots of the boys Friday night for a great bbq & bull session.....A load of guys this morning, but the employees at Wister did a great job getting everyone on before shoot time (mostly new guys working the check station too).....I was on the #58 draw and really didn't have a ton of choices, but the spot I liked was on the board.....For whatever reason, I picked the blind next to it.....Our spot sucked!.....But, we managed 3 limits.....Mostly teal (3 mallards & a gadwall as well).....This was also Jaeger's 1st duck hunt.....He did good.

When we left, it was hot.....I was told though that about 5:00 pm, the lights turned on, and guys had fast and furious shooting.....Anybody who stuck it out through that 98 degree heat deserved them......lol

Thanks for the update I'm hoping our #52 draw and your help will get us on the birds tomorrow.

6 1/2 hours until check in. Can't wait.

Awesome Steve! Our opener in the southeast is on Wednesday and very simply put, the birds aren't here yet. I will be in a blind this week because you never know unless you go, but results from scouting were extremely poor.

Steve, thanks again for the tips at Wister for the opener. I stuck with my gut and hunted the south end. The three of us limted out by 8:30. I apologize, I should of given you the invite to jump on our reservation at #17. It was a great hunt to introduce duck hunting to a new hunter.

Congrats on the hunt. Jaeger is a lot Bigger than he was during turkey season lol. Awesome that he got to retrieve some birds.

Jaeger is a bruiser man! Great food, great people as well. Thanks to all who shared!
Had a great time.....

Hi Steve, just found out my hunting partner drew a handicap blind at Wister for this Wed. Any suggestion to blind number/location for handicap would be appreciated. Please feel free to PM me any info. Thanks Mark
