WTB Shotgun 12ga

new to hunting so i’m looking for a used shotgun. most likely for dove and upland with potential for bigger game. don’t have a big budget so something around $400-$500.
let me know what you got.

Go with Remington 870, great dependable pump. They turners beings there are few real gun store in Ca. anymore. I'm not sure if they come with choke tubes or not.

Do you think the old 870s are better than the new ones? My dad has one from the 50s.

General speaking, older is better. Everything was made better back in the day. Mine is a 1973 and still going strong. Never one problem.

The only real problem with older 870's is, they were mostly 2 3/4", and they had fixed chokes (full is no bueno)....Barrels are interchangeable, but some of them are pricey these days as well.

For the $400-$500.00 you have, you may want to check out a Stoeger semi auto, Retay, or one of the other Turkish made shotguns...2 cents
