Great pics Steve. Too bad the glory days of Wister are over. Sure they will shoot great on opening day and then that is it. Poor management at the area has taken it's toll

Mike,

I hear what your saying....Wister has taken some serious hits lately, but to many of us, it's all we have locally (can't really count San Jacinto anymore)....Wister is unique with it's salt cedar, phragmites, and harsh conditions....Hopefully, with some new equipment and some common sense management, it will get better....An insect has been released on Wister that eats salt cedar....Hope it works.

ps....Had a text conversation with Ryan the other day....Sounds and looks like your lease in Sac will be awesome....All the best up there and hope to see you at Wister once in awhile.

some more pix of Socal waterfowling from the past.

How about a short video of my GWP Wyatt making a long retrieve of a cripple that kept diving on him. You’ll see the duck surface for the last time to his left as he spins around searching. This was his first season hunting ducks.

So true that Wister is all that is available in SoCal. With some resources and proper management we know what it can be. There is so much potential there. Unfortunately all the suggestions fall on deaf ears
