So now the state of Wyoming charges you to get a point after you are unsuccessful in drawing a tag? Just got the email, so you didn’t get drawn, no point and pay money? Unless I’m reading it wrong, I’m done with that state, sad this is what has happened.

They split out a designated points-only period a few years ago. You should've gotten a refund for your application minus app fee and credit card fees. The sad part of WY is their new $1200 special draw fee, it's a rich man's state now but I guess people will always apply.

I also find it laughable that their email says I can apply for sheep point, at $150 it's probably the worst value in the west.

I hate Wyoming...

You’ve had to pay for preference points for years.

They made over $20,000,000.00 in bonus points alone JUST off deer/elk/lope. That excludes every other tag, fee, license.

Biggest rip off out there. I cashed in 15 points this year and paid 2k for a Wy elk tag... plus all those point and application fees... I'm out, forever. I could have hunted Alaska. I was too deep to stop. Ed F

That’s wild, I don’t recall having to re apply after the draw for a point in years past. Could be wrong

I bought another point for Antelope.
I haven't even looked at the cost of the non resident tag.

I am all in. To many points to pull the plug. Pay to play I guess...

Me too, 15 plus points, Elk, deer and antelope and with a big die off this past winter the game herds are decimated, Wanna know how this happened ? I'll tell you this state (Wyoming) with many others in the west have been populated by out of state inhabitants buying up their ranchets off of ranchers that had to sell off their land because of the out of state assholes who drove land value up to the point that now they cannot pay the land taxes on what they have owned for generations. The newbies now have residency and are demanding they have their tags that they paid taxes for. Welcome to the new west everyone inhabited in every state east and north on California taking whatever view whether it be Dem or Republican and making it the way they want it. What we used to know is over, the west has been destroyed. First by the democrats and then by the Republicans that want their tags. This will only get worse and will just become the norm and unrecoverable from.

non resident deer and antelope are around $350, doe tags are around $50. I was able to draw buck deer tags 2 years in a row now but this year they only had a few doe tags in the area I hunt so the freezer will have a little room this year.

If you didn't buy a point in September... you have zero points. Terrible system... Ed F
