NBA what a joke

I stopped watching sports when they started the kneeling. I like sports, I played in high school and college but I never watched that much. I admit I did watch the super bowl but that was the only football game I watched in over a year. I like hockey ( Sharks) and will watch if hey don’t start any kneeling or other crap. I know each hockey team has come out with statements about BLM and diversity and other crap and that’s ok. But any actions like disrespect of our flag or anthem then I’m done. Being a former boxer I love boxing. I’ll watch boxing selectively and if they start the crap I’ll be done with them too.
I see lots and lots of people on different forums saying they are no longer going to watch various sports. I hope they stick to that, talk is sometimes cheap. I wonder how many really will cease to watch. I guess we’ll find out when/if advertising dollars no longer flowing in and teams are struggling to make payroll.

It is all so sad to me as well. I think what gets me most is that the American flag is the symbol for what unites us together as Americans. If equality and unity are truly the desired outcomes, then the protests wouldn't be aimed at the flag.

Who cares. They are allowed to express themselves how ever dumb way they feel. Shouldn't be home watching live sports to begin with but out doing one instead.

I care…I was given the opportunity to play professional sports...I would never disrespect the country that gave me that opportunity...Sports in this country has always been a release, a passion, a way of competing against the best, yourself...A microcosm of every day life.

Money was not a factor in my day...The love of the game was what motivated most of us...To watch athletics act this way is a disgrace to our country and anyone who gave us the freedom to PLAY for money...And I don't give a rats ass what color your skin was/is.

ps...How many little leaguers, how many Pop Warner players, and any other youth athletics are effected by these social justice warriors?...Pretty damn sad commentary, if you ask me!

Personally, I don't care, but I get that a lot of people do. What I don't understand is how you can be pro 2nd amendment and not be pro 1st amendment? They seem to go together. Free speech means saying and expressing (taking a knee) things other people don't like. It isn't just for your "team." It drives me crazy when the left tries to prohibit people from saying "mean" things. Cancel culture, cultural appropriation, and deplatforming is all bullshit, and it is all wrong.

People should be able to fly confederate flags and swastikas - we shouldn't police people's minds or symbols. Most people want to live a good life - raise their kids and do the right thing, but the hard left and the hard right are fucking it up for the rest of us.

What Colin Kaepernick did took nuts, (even if you disagree with his beliefs) but now it all people performing for the camera. There is more of a cost for standing than kneeling which is weird.

Everything in the world is upside down.

This has nothing to do with free speech. No conservatives I know of is saying they can’t express themselves however they want. It is the left that is anti free speech. I’m fine with their right to express their first amendment rights. But most of us don’t like the message, we find their antics, their message, hypocritical, disgusting and wrong. Because of that we are exercising our freedom of choice and are choosing not to watch or support these hypocrite pro athletes.
If they didn’t disrespect the flag and our country and if they expressed themselves outside of their sports we probably would not care. Its no different than if some business was pro neo nazi you probably wouldn’t give that business your support although you may agree that it is their right to express those views. We are boycotting professional sports in an expression of our free speech rights.

People have the right to say and do what ever they want, 1st amendment , and I have the right to not listen or watch their BS.

@WaterDawg @GUNDOGLOVER I agree with both of you. If you don't like what you see change the channel, and if you don't like the kneeling don't watch the game.

Free doesn't mean without consequences.

I also agree the left is more anti-free speech. When I was in university in the 90s the movement to police language was starting, but now it has gone so far. We are raising a new generation of weak brittle people who can't stand to hear they are wrong, (no one has a monopoly on the truth) so they try to shut everyone else up.
