Hunted Monday morning with limits all around for 12 family and friends.
Breakfast at Brownies; then headed to Wister to see what the Wister staff has been up to during the offseason. Pulled off 111 a few hundred feet and message on dash says “Service DEF system, see Dealership “ Really !!
Head back towards Brawley where we had a room for Monday night and Tuesday night. Hung out in the air conditioning while we decided next move. Decided not to chance heading home in the hottest part of the day. Canceled room for Tuesday night. Got into hotel room at 3, went to bed at 5:30 pm. Left hotel at 9:30 pm; 10 minutes on the road and message on dash says “ Truck will go into Limp mode in 150 miles. Great; cuz it’s 169 miles to the house. Stopped in Ontario with 10 miles left, just enough to get me to Dodge dealership. Called AAA to tow us home at 12:15 am, tow truck finally arrived at 5:08 am. At least it was 70 degrees while we waited. Got the truck home but now message says only 8 miles left before limp mode. Didn’t want to chance it Tuesday morning so I had AAA come get the truck. Get to the dealership before they open. Tow truck unloads the truck; I need to back truck away from tow truck so he could turn around and leave. “Ding”, now message on dash says I have 50 miles left before limp mode. Sumbich!
Still haven’t heard from Dodge. But I know it has to do with recall on Def system that the Feds and California required a
year ago !
Let ya all know how this shakes out !
Back out this Saturday !
