Been a hot and slow start to the season so far. Anyone had an opportunity to connect yet this season?

I mean ..I love the 16...but is it open?? Or is it A22?

Definitely a slow start. I’ve been seeing a fair amount of deer but no bachelor groups of bucks like the last couple years of A22.

I'm a gun hunter and don't even pay attention to archery (but I think I'll start next year). I was checking cams on the opener and saw a lot of hunters and stands. Cams caught a lot of does but no bucks. My cameras did see bow hunters lol. The day I went to check my cams I counted three tree stands in the immediate area that were not there when I set up. Did catch a mountain lion on the opener for archery.

I recall seeing young bucks up north this year turkey hunting, but that's about it - oh, except the bucks that prance around openly in Cuyamaca state park. Mature ones really know how to hide.

Thought I was gonna get lucky Sunday as the storm rolled in. Watched a group of 3 doe that split up. Tried to take shots on the single and the pair at 2 different times but they got spooked when I tried to draw.

Seen a few on my cam but they’re usually rolling through after dark.

Lots of tracks and scat almost everywhere I go, still hopeful, the season is still starting.
