    Is this pig scat?

Definitely pig scat and don't tell the USDA guys. Those guys swear there's only one lonely boar in SD.

    Pigs......San Diego......you decide

The tracks in the first looks like hogs, the second photo posted seems a little too pointed to be pig so I would say it's probably a buck track. They are still out there for sure. Found a few semi fresh rooting and a wallow right aft r turkey season. So far my dogs haven't found a whole lot...

Anyone seeing poults on the ground yet?

With the die off from the storm and a excessive take on jakes, MCC isn't fairing too well for next spring. Hopefully the hens that lost their eggs will renest and the left over jennies will produce some poults. I feel like the little glimmer of hope we had for the club just got demolished by a...

Anyone seeing poults on the ground yet?

a friend of mine near campo had a single hen with 5 poults on his property before the weekend rain. Unfortunately today, the hen came back to his property with only 1 baby. I'm guessing the other 4 died due to the cold wet weather. Anyone else seeing poults?

    Great deal on AvianX decoys

I agree, apart from buying a super expensive hazel creek stuffed turkey decoy DSD's are hands down the best on the market. I can't wait, I got a case of redbulls so I can stay awake on the drive up lol

Confessions of a first time diaphragm caller..

You'll need to get the call further up onto your palat. Trim back the yellow tape a little bit but not too much and that will help fit the call in your mouth a little better.

    Great news for dog runners

    Old circle toes

Thanks! I'm getting him mounted in a 3/4 strut gobbling position. It was his last position right before I shot him.

    Old circle toes

Here's a better photo of his toes. Anyone ever see these circular patterns on a old bird before?

    Old circle toes

Thanks Steve, he is by far the biggest and hardest hunted public bird I have ever hunted in the last 24 years. I felt I needed to preserve the memory a little better than just a tail mount. It's a bitter sweet moment though. The woods will be silent without this old monarch

    Old circle toes

what a season... before I start with the story a little background on this gobbler. I been chasing him on and off since opening week. I was able to get his little brother earlier in the season but he's been giving me the slip day after day. I think I have hunted him a total of 10 to 12 solid...
