Utah Turkeys Part ll & lll

Made 2 more trips to Utah turkey hunting.....After bagging my gobbler on May 2nd (you're only allowed 1), I went back with Way (The Fall Guy).....Despite not getting a bird, it was probably the greatest 2 1/2 days of turkey hunting I've ever experienced.....Lots of opportunities at big Merriam's and jakes.....They love to gobble, but getting them to commit totally in, is a different story.....We also got back doored, picked trees with ants, and zigged when we should've zagged....lol

The 3rd trip was with Gen (The Matagi) & his son Yusuke.....Again, we got the gobbles, but the big guys would not give us the shots.....We also had bad weather.....Wind, sleet, snow, & rain.

Again, the areas we hunted were beautiful.....Tons of deer and the trout fishing was great.

Can't wait to get back next year.....A few pix from our trips.

Had an absolute blast Steve. Thanks so much for guiding Yusuke and I up there. Yusuke got some good naps in but he couldn't stop talking about the trip with everyone.

Gen,

It was my pleasure.....Just listening to you call is worth the price of admission.....Glad Yusuke was able to get some fishing in. It's tough for any youngster to have as much patience that is required for turkey hunting (& he was very patient).....Walking these mountains isn't easy either.

Yusuke is a great kid. Incredibly patient for his age, and never seems to complain about conditions. And yes, listening to Gen call turkeys is an absolute inspiration.
