That is correct I do not have experience with the collar. Is the collar necessary? I mean he is very obedient almost excellent but not quite there yet. Thanks for the advise. appreciate it

awesome! I introduced him to gun fire when he was about 4-5 months and he still retrieves. We will work on "excellent" obedience and blind manners. Would you recommend a shock collar?

Thanks all. I went to Bass Pro and tried a lot of the shoes on. I decided to go with the Kenetrek Mountain Extreme Non-Insulated. They feel very well built and are not made in China.

I personally benefited from this current situation... in my defense I had a very good NRA rifle instructor in the BSA and a lot of what he taught us ( if not all) is applicable to hunting.

I have taken my German Shepard to CO and NM in the heat. He does get a bit hot but like most said if you do a couple of stops and give him some water he will be fine. I have a be liner and it does get hot but he got used to it.

Any recommendations on good Hunting shoes and pants? Have a D11 Tag and a bear tag. Plan on backpacking in and out.
