    Great advice on glassing

I think the bottom line is patience and steadiness. If your binos are moving, you can’t see movement in the field of view. Get high, get comfortable, support your glass the best you can, and get it steady enough to see movement as well as partial shapes. That’s what I took away from the article...

    1964 Salton Sea MAP

I still carry paper maps when I go out, in addition to OnX for property boundaries. I find that good USGS maps a lot easier to read for local topography and landmarks, and no cell service or battery power is needed (imagine that!). But getting decent USGS topo maps these days is dicey. I have...

    Great advice on glassing

The topic comes up a lot, and I’ve hunted with some incredible spotters as well as guys who have no idea how to do it. Here is a great post from gohunt.com on the topic: https://www.gohunt.com/read/skills/eight-easy-ways-to-improve-your-glassing-sessions Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    D16 Opener

Nice report, Cali! Good luck tomorrow. I was out scouting one last time yesterday. Saw three bucks at 775 yards. One was a monster, and he had already been watching me. The others were clueless, but who needs to pay attention when you hang out with such a smart buck? After we had stared at each...

    Best deer processor?

No sausage, jerky or ground meat? That’s the only real value a processor could offer. What did you ask them for? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Best deer processor?

Dan, If you want to save money, bone all the meat yourself and label it generally where it’s from (hindquarters, shoulder, etc). They charge you an arm and a leg to bone it out, and it’s not that hard to do yourself. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Haha yes to all the above. Thanks gentlemen. Here is the story: A few years ago, my two brothers and I got to thinking about traveling to hunt and fish, as a way to see more of the country and sample the way folks harvest wild things for food. We’ve talked about Africa and South America, but...
