Got this guy yesterday . He came by at about 8:00am with 2 does. He is as good as anything I have been seeing this season so I decided to take him.
Wind was perfect, temp in the low 40’s, ground still wet from the rain made it easy to get in quietly.
Bad deal Darryl. You know those big ants up there around the base of the trees that smell like piss? I was covered in them. Almost had to strip down and finish the hunt SDbird style.
Got in early and got comfortable. Just about grey light several birds started gobbling. They even gobbled really good on the ground for quite a while.
So once they settled down a bit I yelped and had birds gobbling from behind me. A few more yelps and here they come down the hill fast. I had to...
Wow nicest spurs I’ve ever seen Around these parts. They look like Florida spurs.Congratulations. You made-me nervous though .I didn’t know if you fell and couldn’t get up if you shot an old bird:)
Since you can’t use hounds and you can’t use bait. And you can’t use lights. How do you propose we hunt them if it was legal? So in reality, making it legal would not do much for cat management in California. They would be as hard to find as Bigfoot.
I don't work with them I work among them. I have to tolerate there self serving sneaky land grabbing B.S. So don't worry. If they want it stopped they will sneak something in. But pay attention. The ones you want to help you shut it down don't want you in there either.
