    Sac Snows Part 2....weird

Word has it Honey Lake, Goose Lake and Likely are seeing geese flood into the area. Who knows. I do know that I saw very little adults in the area and there seemed to be less geese than a month ago. Then again I stayed on the west side. My dad hunted Colusa the day before the goose hunt and...

    Avet Reels

Chinny, I had to buy it at Bass Pro because I had $350 in BP gift cards. I bought the MXL 6/4 two speed with MC yesterday. My only question is when in free spool, I spin the spool with my thumb and it doesn't spin for very long. The spool tension knob is turned pretty loose too and MC is set...

Don't ask me why some photos are upside down. When you click on them it shows them right side up.

    Sac Snows Part 2....weird

So I went back up to Maxwell for another hunt with Kenny. Started out by staying at Granzella's (man I love that place). He told me ahead of time that hunting will be tough. What is weird is that most of the geese have already started moving out of the area. All headed back up north. Just...

I too have been looking into WU. It's a mixed bag of reviews. Some hate it and some love it. Who knows. What is the cost of WU and are you locked in a contract?

    Snowing in the IV

I heard "back in the old days" trash bags with a rock inside worked well. I'll be headed back up to Maxwell next week to hunt Creole's neck of the woods. Can't wait to get back on the snows and specks.

    Avet Reels

Anybody have an opinion on them? I'm looking at getting an all around setup that I use for Yellowtail, Tuna, and Rock Fish. I'm looking at the Avet MXL 2 speed with magic cast. I'm pretty set on the Avets. I like that they are made in SoCal. Thoughts??

    Grizzly Island

UPDATE: I figured I would tell everyone about my experience as to add to the information on this site... Grizzly is HUGE. There are two lines of cars, one rezzie line and one back-fill line. There is no camping or trailers of any kind allowed. Arrive early and sleep in your car. It's first...

I found an old map online for the Pond 11 blinds... Does anyone have a map with the Crescent blinds? I can't seem to find any online.

    Waders????

Go with lightweight and breathable. This is California. You aren't hunting in any extreme weather, and if you need to you can always add a layer. I have breathable waders and regardless of the time of year, where I'm hunting, by the time I make it to the blind, I'm soaked with sweat.
