You're doing great if you saw a legal buck on public in those units as a newer hunter.
My advice would be sticking to one unit / area and knowing it cold.
Nice to get proactive win instead of just playing defense (and losing ground) all the time.
I'm guessing this gets us another 100 or so harvests per year.

I've had better luck emailing. You may get passed around a bit and need to follow up though.
I gave up calling and asking after they couldn't differentiate a22 and a-zone. I've had some other blatantly incorrect advice given over the phone including other states.
Feel free to swing by the next NWTF General Meeting (3/16 Poway Hamburger Factory @6:30). There will be some guys there who have hunted it and can give you all the info. It's family friendly.
