HUNTING NEW MEXICO - Play by Play in the Field!

Ahhh, those pictures make me homesick! looks just about like it plays out in my dreams and memories. Open country rising into snow dusted peaks of pinon and juniper, 4x4 vehicles of all sorts, the smell of gun powder, and laughs with old friends. Drink it up, its paradise, Pura Vida!

    Nature's oddities and beauty

Thanks Ajsnack. I am not real familiar with the whitetail other than pictures and such. That was a crazy buck, probably would do a major double take if I saw something like that through the binocs. Thanks for sharing that!

    Nature's oddities and beauty

Those goats sure are unique. My buddy shot an oryx that had a hook similar to NBK's antelope. I'll try and get a picture from him. Is that a mule deer on the outdoor life page? It is pretty amazing that thing could still eat.

    New Mexico deer hunt

Ahh my home territory! Good looking buck! That was always my experience deer hunting, if you don't get one in the morning get ready for a lot of walking and quick shooting when you almost step on one. Thanks for taking me down not-so-distant memory lane

    Shot Simulator App

The recon app is very useful in the field. Public land layer is a big help although does up the cost. Cache the maps you need when you have wifi, then you don't need service in the field. And turn on airplane mode so you aren't constantly searching for service. The gps function will still work...

    Nature's oddities and beauty

Picking up a new pistol at Fine Firearms yesterday, NBK and I got to talking about hunting. I showed him a picture of a bull elk my buddy's dad killed a few years ago. As you can see from the picture (hopefully I posted it correctly), although it is no record book elk, it is a special. So at...

    WHO WEARS BLAZE ORANGE

I have not hunted here in CA, I am from NM and have done most of my hunting there. We were never required to wear orange, so I never have, but I am considering it here. I have been scouting for deer a bit in D16 and have found that it is hard to get away from easy hunting as far as I can tell...
