Went for a drive this afternoon with the family and saw some birds (on private land of course!) The pictures aren't great, my wife's the better photographer but the birds were on my side of the truck! Saw some longbeards; over 50 birds in this flock. Can't wait for spring!!

Seems as though the consensus is that most of the birds are on private land. Just curious, has anyone had any luck getting permission to hunt private property by knocking on doors, introducting yourself and asking to hunt? I'm considering trying just that come January...

Washington state originally but I've got family in Arkansas too. My dad, myself, and a few other relatives are part of a deer lease down there. Just got back from this year's hunt; managed to fill the freezer but no wall hangers this time!
