I was lucky enough to get drawn for a Lake Mendocino Hunt that is way up in Ukiah, CA. I got family within an hour of there so it will be worth the trip. Has anyone ever hunted this area and got any tips for it at all?

That is a start at least. I don't think that I have gear that size though.

I don't have access to a boat so I would be doing shore or pier fishing. I have a lot of freshwater bass gear. I have been told to go toward the Mission Bay area but again this is all I know and its not much to start with.

That is going to be like that with any large outfitter store. Cabela's (which doesn't exisit in California) is just as bad when it comes to things like that.
