The break in big game seasons (at least where I hunt/had tags) has me rifle shopping. Bergara Timber with the wood Monte Carlo stock is catching my eye, anybody own one? I won’t mention caliber as to keep focus on the gun question but will say I’m not looking at magnums lol. Really hard to find a wood Monte Carlo on a gun under $1,500 and a sub MOA guarantee off the shelf.

Bergara makes a solid rifle. That said, the Tikka T3 in classic wood would be hard to pass up—and it fits your budget as well.
An old SCH guy (talked to him yesterday) is also looking to sell his Sako 85 Grey Wolf in .260. It’s like new, and I’d bet you could get a great deal on it. The Grey Wolf is a great-looking wood-stocked Sako, and Sakos are widely regarded as some of the best factory rifles on the planet.
