anyone DIy catalina (recently)?

Looks like it is possible to do DIY, but will be a logistic nightmare. Wondering if anyone has done it DIY (not int he days when they had goats and pigs) and if they could share logistics tips! Much appreciated

Had a chance to read the Conservancy regs, no weapons on campgrounds? Sounds like you'd have to book a room in town that you'd have to hike back to every day. Maybe some guys have figured out how to do it DIY, but I see now why people tend to look for other opportunities that are logistically easier.
