Anyone ever hunt north California for turkey? Shasta area?

The question says it all. I've read/heard multiple times that Shasta county is swarmed with turkey but never thought about taking a drive until... well now.
Has anyone ever been up that way?

Drake,

Are you a member of NWTF?.....If you are, you can call a NoCal rep and he could probably give you some advice on where to start (I know the NWTF biologist up there too).....Anytime I go to a new area, I try to find out where NF areas are and find what good private property abuts it (kind of like San Diego Co......lol).....I also try to talk to locals for either permish on private or access to NF.
