I have a good friend who scouted for us a couple days in advance. Opening morning was lots of glassing and hiking and not finding anything.
Around mid-morning we see a nice 4x4 at about 450 yards with a stiff breeze. Definitely out of range. We tried to make a stalk and he vanished.

Took a break in the afternoon to set up camp and have an early dinner...D16 lobsters.
Went back out for an evening hunt. Didn’t see anything. Then just before sunset. Jack says: “DEER,DEER,DEER, & IT’S A BUCK!!”

He made a great shot. An amazing 1st buck. I guess it’s time to turn him loose on the 16.
