To show the greatfulness many of us feel toward Ghost/Lee for leading a group pheasant hunt, I'd like to contribute toward bringing several of us together for a Band-Tail Pigeon hunt when the season opens (Dec19, Dec20).
I've got the public land spots identified (North East of San Diego) and with several hunters it will keep the birds flying (limit is 2 per day per Hunter so this is more of a get-together than a chance to bring home lots of meat).

Start to think if you would be interested. There are still almost 4 weeks before the season starts so there is no need to commit yet.

I also intend to bring chairs and a grill (I'll confirm that this is ok with the Ranger) so that hunters can take a break and cook up a nice burger lunch.

First...lee if you need help of some kind let us know. I for one wold be more then willing to help out with the move or home repairs.

2nd.... i wish i could have met up with you guys. my wife son and i got on the pheasants pretty well and my truck would have made quick work or the cherokee vs. ditch issue.

3rd.... id love to commit to this. If im welcome ill be coming down from north LA with a crew cab if any one wants to go but needs a ride or cant swing the gas. Ill have atleast 2 seats open. plus a covered shell for a dog if need be.

Mt Palomar. I won't give the specific location until we are close to the hunt (I found this spot all on my own so I don't feel bad about giving out the details to those who join. If someone else had shared this spot with me then I never would be taking others to it). This spot is also where the Palomar ranger hangs out during band-tail season (to check licenses and bags limits) so it is recognized as a popular spot.

To give a hint about this spot, it is the location where last year during deer season a hunter was shooting band-tails and thinking they were Euros. This same episode has been described by two different people as being on private land or public land (both people were correct in their description). Also the episode has been described as being either in the morning or afternoon (both people were correct in that description as well). I wasn't that individual shooting the band-tails but I was there hunting deer all day that day and the dove hunter went back and forth from private to public while also taking breaks throughout the day in their RV on private).

Hope you don't blow out my spot on the net. Don't make this like bloody decks

X3.....Palomar Mt......Already has group get togethers by the truck loads......Just sayin'

Not trying to get people too excited (well, yes I am). From this old post off of Bloody Decks (I took Johnny's advice and cruised over there but I don't recommend it), you know the Band-Tail trip will be exciting.
"...Feathers drifting in the wind"
On Dec 19th we'll have Band Tails, Crow (optional), and Doves in season.
