As I stated before the wife and I are hoping this will be his last deployment !!!
He is currently in year 19 with 2/12 left on contract. It has been a long road for us but more so for him understandbly !
Kind of sad, but after the military’s response to Covid he is done ! In his words “they can go **** themselves after the way they treated us !!” I get it ! For him and many, many others they have given their lives for others. And to be treated and spoke to with such arrogance is
disgusting !!
He has already told Uncle Sam that upon return from this deployment that he will keep his commitment but in one place and one job only or he will go out on a Med. For us we are hoping he leaves now or asap !!
I said before that it’s kind of sad; but in reality it is to me very sad. This boy dreamed of doing this from a very early age! I thought it might be a phase and maybe he would grow out of it. But it didn’t ; it only grew stronger ! I guess the old adage is true “ Warriors are born not chosen !”
Docherry, he has been a Weapons Specialist his entire career with the Army. Something I think is really cool is that he is a Master Armorer, I think that’s the phrase. Meaning he is profecient in the use and repair of every NATO weapon that can be carried by hand. He is a HALO guy, hand held drone operator, spent 3-1/2 years a a sniper trainer, with 7 or 8 deployments into the Middle East.
I am looking forward to our future ! We have missed a lot of time together !
I’m not remiss about what the future holds for him and us ! He’s been in some really bad places, lost brothers he loved, seen things I can’t even begin to imagine!!
When that time comes we as a family will trust in the Lord once again !!!
With all the crap going on in this world, now more than ever I pray for all the men and women who are serving this great country of ours !
