Well, the 2nd 7 days weren't as good...We had to hunt units that we basically hadn't hunted before and that I did not have the connections for...Still, we had some fun shoots and it was more challenging..........
Day 1 was nothing more than a scouting day to the north...We got turned down for the 1st time ever because we were from the USA, but we got permission on the property right next to it...He loves president Trump.........
Day 2 was a speck hunt with a couple of big honkers thrown in...It was just Mike and I....12 specks and 3 big boys...Not bad for just "Running traffic"...........
Day 3 found us hurting for a spot...So, Ronnie and Mike hunted the same oat field and a slough down the street...They passed on ducks at the slough...They managed 9 specks...............
Day 4 was another day off and just scouted...I got permish from another Hutterite colony and it looked promising...................
Day 5 was a cackler shoot...Something we rarely get...Coley was incredible on some of his long distance retrieves..........
Day 6 was a trip to Edmonton with the family, Cabela's, Scheel's, and A & W root beer...Stefanie and the kids had flown up for Jacob's 40th birthday.............
Day 7 was a duck shoot on a slough that we had looked at, but didn't think we would get permission on...Low and behold, this farmer loves President Trump and we were good to go...Mike was not feeling well in the morning...So, it was just Ronnie and I on the last hunt...Limits of mallards and a couple of bonus honkers for Ron...He wanted to test his new Benelli SBE 3, 20 gauge on some big grays...The afternoon we tried a snow hunt with some of local boys...Not real successful, but always a hoot .........
ps...Even went to a hockey game with the family..................
