Another year of Coues hunting in the books, this year brought interesting challenges. The full moon was worry some we expected a difficult hunt. Interestingly enough we found anywhere from 5-30 bucks a day (mostly spikes and forket horns). We found a few bucks we wanted to target but had a difficult time relocating them, the bigger bucks seem to show their face and then disappear not to be seen again. We filled 3 of 5 tags and had a great time hunting with friends. And yes! We even road hunted as dad is getting up there in age and is not as mobile as he used to be. I was able to shoot a decent 3x3, I’ll post a picture next to a 102” buck for reference. All in all it’s always a great time in Coues country, we were able to backpack in several nights which is really the only was to chase these little critters. Enjoy the pictures and we are already planning for 2022!
