My doctor told me that at some point, most everyone will get it...Vaccinated or not..........
yeah he delivered alright ! Gave me a bite on my left forearm below the elbow. Arm swelled up, burning hot and painful to touch. To top it off it gave me rad headaches and feel like crap. Swelling has gone down considerably, still painful to the touch, but stilll feel like crap !!
Do spiders give Rona ?? lol !!
Yep I like the old old stuff the most like Roosevelts adventures. The world was so untamed back then. If you like watefowl stuff check out Nash Buckingham turn of the century on the Mississippi, Some of the best I have ever read. Jack O'Connor or Elmer Keith never came up short as well.@Snake Charmer has probably read most of those. Good stuff Kellen.
Jack O, Connor size for sure, Back in his day it would have been the Mogollon rim above Payson or the Kiabab north rim close to Utah for that size stuff and he would have been shooting a custom Winchester M-70 chambered in 270 Winchester topped with a Weaver 4x scope while doing it on horseback.....sorta..
Nothing wrong with that. My mothers family settled in New Mexico in the late 1700's as cattle ranchers back then. I spent years there in the 1970's on high school when I was off, The first elk I saw taken was in the Gila wilderness in 1972 as a kid escorting grazing herds onto federal land on lease grazing during the summer/late fall with my ancestors ranch which still goes on. My uncle shot it with a Remington 721 in 270 as it came screaming in at the sound of a yet to be used much call.Jack O'Connor and his Win Mod 70 in .270 was my hero as a young buck hunter....So disappointed when I got old enough to learn my dads .270 was a Rem 721 .270..lol
JOC is great, especially for all things sheep hunting. I recently found a nice copy of his “Big Game Animals of North America” which is great book for the hunter on this continent. Lately I’ve been reading tons of stuff on Africa though. The Safaris of the old days (1950’s and earlier) were an incredible adventure. Sadly that style of Safari is long gone but it was well documented and Hemingway and Ruark give a window into that era with their books. I also recently picked up a copy of John Taylor’s African Rifles and Cartridges, which for the modern hunter is outdated but it is still considered a must read in the African hunting genre.Yep I like the old old stuff the most like Roosevelts adventures. Those cz 22 rifles are awesome. He’ll pass that down to his own kids and grandkids.Santa got my son a CZ .22 rifle and got the wife a Browning Citori 20ga. Apparently I was too bad all year and got no present.View attachment 52649
He is 4-1/2 years old. Definitely going to be single shots with heavy supervisionThose cz 22 rifles are awesome. He’ll pass that down to his own kids and grandkids.
Mind if I ask how old your boy is? Mine is 6 going on 7 and I’m debating at what age to get him a .22.
Love the old books too. Jim Zumbo’s “Hunting Americas Mule Deer” is a great read. The techniques still the same, just the equipment used has changed in most of these books. I manage to pick up something new out of each one.JOC is great, especially for all things sheep hunting.
