7 does and a spike this morning. Man the wind this morning just messed me up, my eyes feel fried. The one spike I watched was on a mission to get laid. Little guy was chasing some thick chick and she wanted nothing to do
with him. They were out today for sure.

No deer this weekend but a cool scene to watch. Saw a mountain lion at first light. Watched it cruise around for a bit. Lost it for a minute then watched it as it stalked some cattle. Those cattle were chasing the lion around to keep it away from the calves while they ran away. Decided to hike out after that.

Wondering if I should stay out of the area or head back?? Ive seen deer in there more than once......

The lion is there because there are deer there.

Funny you say that. I walked right up on a bobcat. I was 20' from it before I stopped getting closer. Crouched down just looking at me the whole time. Looked like a young one.

Saw two Bobcats on Sat evening. First one was on the run, second was a big Tom that was maybe 30 yards from me. Stopped for about 10 seconds just staring at each other.

Damn!...No matter how hard I tried...I just couldn't make that wide spot on his antler a 3rd point....MCC sucks................................ :joy:

I hope they (MCC) are working with qualified biologists and not just making haphazard decisions. IMO, Mcc should stop hunting three points and let them multiply and encourage hunting forks , genectially that might encourage the production of larger antlered deer more tined deer. Just my opinion and Im sure I wil be hated but I have seen the deer get better up where I live since we left them alone a few years ago. Just sayin...

That is a legit D16 Shooter Buck. Nice Forkie. I have no issues with MCC Bucks needing 3 points on at least one side to shoot. You are paying a fair amount of money to access good private property. Shooting 3 points and higher makes sense to me.

Antler restrictions in a Forky dominate gene pool is kinda crazy lol

Biologist have stated and restated that the number 1 factor that affects antler growth is nutrion intake, and nutrition intake fluctuates with decomposition, i.e., fire and decomposition of plants resupplying nutrents into the soil for plants to absorb. Genetics is NOT the primary reason behind antler growth.

But hey, if you want better anter growth, you can utilize the artificial method, just start spreading fertilizer in your hunting area. However, you may want to check local laws and regulations first.
