The north end of the Salton Sea has a lot of dove, but the south end is really where it's at....Wister W.A. has a lot of food planted and looks great...The place is normally a zoo, but hunting the edges can be fun...The eastside near the desert can be good too...This kind of scenario goes the whole length of the IV...Driving/scouting is a huge plus before the opener.
Doves have a nighttime roost and a daytime roost...Finding the daytime roosts can provide some good mid morning shoots...Citrus groves on the eastside can be good areas to check out as well.
There's also the Heritage fields and Finney Ramer...Don't know which are planted and mowed, but they always have some birds....Good luck
Speaking of citrus groves on the eastside, also check out the wildland nearby them. Had some great shoots before on birds going from the citrus to their midday roost in the brush.
