What not to do- Take the CA policies and vote for people who will implement what ruined our great state and try to ruin Texas with it, best of luck brother
Why east Texas? What type of hunting are you into?
I am biased towards western hunting so west Texas would get my vote! East is a little too swampy but its great if you like sitting in blinds. Texas is also like 98% private land or something crazy like that so save $$$ for leases.

In laws live there
Here in Cali I hunt mostly deer
When I go out and visit Texas there is plenty of deer,hogs and fishing.
