I had a really bad night that let to a really bad morning, managed to thaw and get into the woods about 11 am

Still one of the best days of my life!!

BTW - I saw some GIANT Tom's 1 flock had monsters all with at least 6 inch beards...right on the road...

I probably saw the biggest turkey I have ever seen in my life on 79 between Santa Ysebel and Henshaw out grazing on a pasture Sun was hitting him just right..Magnificent bird

So for what its worth to you...and no I didn't get a bird. I don't shoot ladies, never will.

Go Hunt

Didn't realize I could've been the record holder for SD Co..... ;D......I shot a 24.2 one year......Per NWTF, the biggest is 22 lbs (only 10 birds recorded)...... ;)

Pretty cool map of the US with the largest turkeys by score weight, spurs, beard, etc.

My boy and I killed a 25.4 in "07". And then 2 weeks later a guy weighed one in at the Cuyamaca Lake dock scale that went just over 28lbs.

Doug,

Never have seen or heard of one that big......Must have been all the bread and lead that big one consumed..... :D

Yeah, I hear ya. He killed it in his yard. I have my thoughts on yard feeding wild turkeys too. He shot it 75yds from that big barn on the 79 at Harrison park rd. The weight is legit, I confirmed it with the dock keeper at the lake. A mutual friend of the his and mine showed me the blind he killed it from. When it came into his yard in the morning with the hens he was waiting for it and "Good Night Alice". Not the way you or I would have done it but to each his own. Right
