I've spent most my adult life chasing chukar in the upper deserts....Always one of the toughest birds to bag....Well, I found out today that even pen raised chukar can give you the slip....Hunted Greenhead Duck Club with my buddies Jack (member) & Mike....15 birds were released into the wild on about 20 acres and we got 10 of them... :p

And the planter said that was good.... :D

We did a hunt....well really a pet and shot as my uncle calls it :D at Raahauges and we got 11 out of 15 pheasants. It was a great time but damn hot out there. Will have to try the Chukar next time seems like a challenge. Great pics

I was lucky to get all 3 of my chukar along with 4 pheasant, at 4 winds about a month ago ...alot of fun for a canned hunt

Nice fat looking birds. "Canned" planted hunts are huge fun and a great moral booster as well as great for the dogs

I've never had chukar. I love pheasant too much. How is it?

Steve, If you had a pointing dog on that hunt I'd bet dollars to donuts that you would have found more of the birds :p

Fred,

No argument there.....We only completely lost one.....The others either flushed wild or behind trees.....I'm sure a pointing dog would've have either held them or we would've been more prepared to shoot.

One thing about Chukar... they are damn delicious.
