Brusier fo sho. Never a doubt hatch.Oh my...what a brusier!!! He,ll make book for sho!! Note the throat patch that came at 5 ft! Was a close call for sure...hold steady..tow the line..never waiver.. push forward..and FINISH!! Larry would be proud...I hate to lose. And I hate bears.. uggh.
Yes sir...side shot him on the first one..he did not like it much and ran down the canyon in to the willows...went in after him and dusk...tracked him for 200yds..then came the ominous heavy breathing sounds and gurgles as he was lung hit...then came the panting and roar as he exploded out of the slash and came in for the kill...if it were not for my cat like reflexes and a trusty throat shot out of the 257wby at point blank range.id surely would have been mauled...no time to aim..hold rifle out front ..point and pull trigger..hope for the best...bear hunting .. especially when having to go in for the kill..is definitely a rush...not for the faint of heart..or duckers.. that's for sure..ha!! Had a little shit in my pants when I got back to camp...lol...257 Weatherby ?
Real adrenaline rush. Not a 400# bear but had similar situation with 200# pig. A real attention getter it was.
