Ground Squirrels

My favorite part of MCC...After last years high grass, there should be a plethora of gophers (Canadian for ground squirrels)... ;)

The IV has some squirrels running around and spreading from the NAF in Seeley. Some transfer brought a few stowaways a couple years back and now they are flourishing.
 
At my favorite place to pop squeeks from, it's kind of an exercise in self-control. Because Quail come meandering on thru as well picking up food bits in the rocks embedded into the side of this ravine. They'd be such easy pickin's too.

And it's such a cool feeling that you managed to hit such a small critter at those distances! Like it's natures perfect tool for teaching us marksmanship.
