Help with Euros

Any advice on distinguishing euros from other doves? dFG provides a pdf with drawings, but I still can't always tell the difference.

Go watch em fly and you'll figure it out after awhile.. Euros are much larger, lighter in color, and more pigeon-like. They're steadier fliers than WWs and mournings. Also if u watch em land on a powerline they'll fan out their tail and its pretty square with the white ends.

Euro, mourning, & white-wing doves......Flying, the Euro has more of a loping wing action and slow wing beat. The mourning dove is more of a darter (faster too).....WW are kind of the missing link between the Euro & mourning doves. More difficult to tell the difference in flight to a Euro, because it has a square tail like the Euro (pointed tail on mourning doves).....The biggest difference is the usual dark color of a WW and the smaller size.

If in doubt, don't shoot.....2 cents
