Not bad.....I personally carry both a slate & a glass call......The weight factor of a few ounces is a non factor IMO.
A couple of the boys I've taken hunting over the years make their own custom internal glass over slate calls (Flydown Calls)......Pure Strut Calls is another that has a great ring and glass over slate (internal).

I think Josh is back making them (he's in the Esco fire academy right now).....Pretty cool how they put the feather of your choice in the middle....They also match the striker to the call.....Slate or glass.
