Actually, I love all waterfowl.........Here's some pix from years past.........Starting on my 1st opener at the North End of the Salton Sea (1972). I have no idea what I shot with my cousin.....I do know there were spoonies & ruddies in the mix........lol

San Diego Bay 1976.......Looks like bluebills & scoters....... ;D

Lake Henshaw 1980......To have the old potato fields back....... ;)

Crowley Lake 1982......This was before layout blinds....Wet& cold....lol

Barrett Lake 1992......Ringers were the duck of the day here......Fast & furious...... :eek:

My old chocolate lab Yeager at Union Trac 2000.......When just rags got 'em.......lol

Found a few SD Bay pix.........1978-86.......... ;D

Not only did we get bluebills, canvasbacks, & scoters, but pintail and especially widgeon would pour into the eel grass beds.

I like the photo of the salt piles in the background. Just cool man! I remember those days in South Bay. The last of the open water So Cal duck hunting for sure.

Thanks for the memories Steve. I have been right there with you, hunting Wister since 1970, launching out of both Red Hill and along the Whitewater river in the north. Free Roam days on the 'fuge. First come, first serve, no lottery system. Wister Mud falling off your car ALL YEAR LONG. Gotta LOVE the MUD!!!
