J15 Forky

My boy got a nice little forky in J15 just outside Yosemite.

The snow just started the park deer to move Saturday, most hunters were waiting for a break in the snow to go for a big G37 buck.

Took the boy up Friday but he was sick as a dog, did some truck/road hunting since he was sick and we could only see 50 yards maybe.

We saw this forky in a open space. The boy made a great shot , just behind the shoulder and out chest. Nice buck.

Very proud of my 12yo, did everything right even the cleanup.

Thanks for the replies.

The deer is hanging chilling, we checked the inside gap on the spread, it’s 25” inside.

We saw some other deer harvested will more points but smaller gap. G37 is definitely on the list for a 1st choice.

Gotta say I’m glad I went with 7-08, over a 243 for a first rifle. The boy didn’t want the rifle in the pic, he’s big on operational security and being PC.
