We weren’t even goose hunting. We just finished walking a youth area for pheasants. About 40yds off the dirt road I see a lone snow goose. We got hit pretty hard with Avuan flu again this year, so I thought I’d let my son walk out and dispatch it. Something told me to go look at it, and I’ll be damned if it didn’t have a band!
His first snow goose, his first band! When we looked at the site it was kinda weird like the band didn’t exist. Then a couple months later a biologist contacted us to confirm the band and pictures of it.
She said it was unusual and wanted to confirm so we did and here’s the result. He wasn’t sick, he may have had Alzheimer’s. Anyway 15yo bird!
