My buddy shot this goose near unit 1 in the Imperial Valley November 19th. Looks like they are going with a new style leg band instead of the neck band for Identifying in the field.

This year in Canada..........Canada goose..........Banded in Benson, Utah.....June, 2015........The uniqueness of this band is that it's black instead of silver.......It's so hunters can't see them as easily.

Classic Steve, you go north to shoot a southern bird. First I have seen of the black bands, pretty cool!

Well i shot 2 band geese this year 1 was baned in richfield utah and other one was banded in overton nev.

Shooting local birds, 100 miles north and 100 miles south of you. Congrats on the bands!

I looked up Nunavic, Alaska. Pretty far west, now I gotta go look up my old snow goose bands.

Your Ross Goose is up there for older birds.

Bands.... I've been hunting waterfowl for about 43 years and guess how many bands I've collected? Zippo...almost as lucky as with the reservation system. To top that off I've only seen one band collected by one of my hunting partners in all that time too.

Steve, that is amazing data for So Cal honks... then you go a skew the data by shooting one in Canada. What the hell!?
