Little Hunting,A Little Fishing

Went up thurs morn hoping for a little luck.It was windy and cold as I crossed the meadow so I went to a spot where I could watch a fence crossing with good wind direction.At about 7:00am the does started flowing through but no bucks.So I moved to a spot where I could watch them for a while.Still no bucks,then 2 spikes came in one was really young and the other was older prob a life time spike.He chased a few of the does but they were not having any I bailed out at 12:30.Went home and got my gear together and my buddy and I headed down to Shelter Island ramp.The chart indicated perfect conditions for an early crawl.The first net hit the water at 5:00pm and we were limited out at 8:30.Its back to the hills tomarrow,hopping to get a turkey while Im watching the does.
