Buddy and I had a great outing today. As we were approaching a new area that I’ve been meaning to poke around for quail the last couple of years, we ran into a tight group of 25 pheasants. Nice surprise but didn’t get a shot. Then off to see if this spot was holding quail.
Being able to see all the tracks in the snow, it’s like having bionic ears or x-ray vision! Within a couple of minutes of seeing this little highway of tracks, up popped our first nice covey. Bumped a lot of birds…some good shots and some misses.
