Took a couple days off after getting back from Canada....Had to check out the numerous pawn shops, Good Willie's, and local Wally World's............:joy:

Scouted some waterfowl spots and yesterday did a little prairie dog shootin'....Added a couple of 'yotes as well.............

The mighty HMR .17 is a deadly little round...Both coyotes were killed with it....One at 164 yds and the other at 201...the 201 dropped in his tracks....The 165 went about 25 before tipping over............:skull:

Upland hunting today....Hope it's couple cooler...............;)

Waterfowl opener wasn't a total bust, but dead calm, warm, and few birds made for a long day... The marsh we hunted was an off shoot of the Missouri River...Really cool spot with lots of varieties of fowl...8 different species for the day...Till next year...............

ps....The youth season is the week-end before general season and that pretty much pushed the birds off the areas we scouted...................;)

Awesome Steve. Were those coyote head shots with the 17, or did they drop with lungers? What grain were you shooting?

The variety of opportunities there is amazing… it’d be interesting to see how many species you could feasibly take in a day.

Kellen,

My SIL came up a couple years back....In one morning, he shot 2 huns, a sharpie, 2 roosters, 7 ducks, and a honker.....Montana is absolutely the best, when it comes to the bird hunter....
