Steve is that Stef?
Snake Charmer,Fabian, Get yourself an x-pen (moveable fence) and a kennel crate and use it to contain your pup when not in direct contact. Be perpared for lots of stuff you that you will have to train out of them. Its easy but you need to be prepared and have a plan in hand when it happens so that you can move through it and help the pup progress. The first six to ten months are complete mayhem with them doing whatever they want so use your knowledge to keep them safe and out of trouble with you. They are like baby children with the ability to move and chew things without knowledge that they are doing wrong. It is up to you and the family to begin training, coaxing and setting the behaviors that make them good members of your family. Don't depend on the pup to figure this out on its own. It takes your input as well as the family being on the same page with all of this to get there as well as non stop coaxing and coaching to get it done. .P.M or call me direct I would be glad to help you with this no charge.
I will be posting the progress.Congrats! Looking forward to hearing about your adventures with him.

Fabian, my biggest warning to you is do not put your pup near gun fire and loud noises until they are at least eight months old and have been introduced to it in a progressve way. It's the most seen problem I see if not done properly. If you scare a dog which is highly likely if you shoot near them when they are young you will never be able to fix it and the sight of a gun to them or anything related will send them into retreat and fear. I cannot over state that loud noises and pups must be done properly or they will be ruined forever. I've seen and sent more dogs home because they were untrainable because of this than any other reason. Don't rush the process, It takes twenty years or more to raise a child and it takes about 1/5 of that time or more to train a good dog. Don't be in a hurry. Do not bring him to the shotgun patterning get together.I will be posting the progress.
If allowed I will bring him to the Spring Turkey Tune Up to assist us at the shot gun patterning station

When it sis time get ahold of me and I'll talk you through how to gun break the dog.Got it.
I am gonna have to wait a bit more then. By February he will be 7 months old.
Regardless of which name you settle on, remember it will be his middle name. Because of damage he does you will be calling him by, GODDAMIT Gauge, Duke, Bosco or whatever.
I have a kennel crate for youSnake Charmer,
I appreciate your input and advice, I have had many dogs of different breeds in my life that I had to train, but never a hunting dog.
I have an X-pen, I will start looking for a kennel crate.
Thank you for your offer, i will reach out to you.
I know that I can return the curtesy.
I remember hunting with that dog, he was a big bruiser. Good luck FabianFabian,
Yes, it is....Bosco was also the father of Yeager l
ps...You would not leave a young child by itself in a room...Use the same mentality with your pup...Training will take some time, but really not that much...When you start, put the family away...I'll talk to you about it next week.
Thank you Mark,I remember hunting with that dog, he was a big bruiser. Good luck Fabian
Steve, we are watching him closely, he slips in the x-pen inside the garage at night and we put him in it in the back yard during the day when we are not around.Dang...Bosco didn't even make the final cut...lol
Fabian,
Not only will he chew anything, but it can be dangerous for him...Nothing should be left with him alone.
