New Surcharge on Duck & Upland Game Next Season

Probably not "many" but some do. I think we have pretty decent hunting here depending on what you like hunting. Do you know of a permanent license keeps you in the resident pool even if you move out?
I have no idea as to that last part.

I get that parts of California have good hunting depending what you’re after. I just have the impression that most of the good hunting states have the same opportunities or better.

Is there any public accountability for these funds?

Payback for a lifetime license was over 15 years.
In the past I have found a chart on where and how the funds were allocated. Of course the diffenitions and line items attached can and should be questioned , just to keep the powers that be accountable.

I would add , that we all agree that more should and could be done with our money I have personally witnessed obvious improvements in several of the state and federal parks that I have visited in the last several years.

Do many hunters come back to hunt CA after moving?

Seems most if the states our kind move to have better opportunities anyway.
Who in there right mind would ever come back to CA after moving.. especially to hunt? Terrible odds of being successful do to lack of game.. and all pubic land no thanks!Uggh.

Most funds or what little are spent for intended projects are spent up in Central and Northern Cal. They don't spends funds in SoCal to improve habitat

Assuming this answer about equal deer odds between res and non-res by GoHunt is accurate, then I think the incentive is pretty good.

Ca doesn't differentiate between resident and non-residents on the drawings... except for elk and sheep where they limit it to 1 non-resident tag for each. My draw odds on deer are the same as a resident. Ed F

I wonder if this is something some of the local state reps would be interested in working with us on. Maybe NWTF/DU/QU/BCHA local chapters could all team up to work with the state reps for the 13/15/16 areas and get us some improved habitat.

Yeah, I wasn't aware its just a lot of hunters spending their own dollars and time maintaining guzzlers and such.
