Oh my… it has begun…

the one on the right looks like a storm sage hen.....

Censored content for the boomer on the left… close range, lost his skull cap or would have mounted mounting the Euro… that’s how it identified… disturbing

Sweet Jesus.....bring on the horn porn bro!!!!!

I’ve been waiting seven years to do this hunt, between the deployments and work ups, or just not having enough points I finally had enough.
I called my buddy last January and told him how many points I had and that I am finally available, he said put in and we’re going deep into grizzly country!
He walked in solo as I began my drive up. He gets an early trigger time due to his combat related disability. He started sending me pictures of bulls, only place he could get reception was one point up on top.
One he sent he said “IF he’s big enough, I’ll kill him tomorrow “ (on his opening day)…

Dear Lord…

Opening morning, actually 1 am, buddy heard bugle outside his tent. Same bugle that the 6x5 in pic above let out from two miles away when spotted.
Had to be the big guy upstairs telling him shoot that bull.
So he wakes up to cow calls in the meadow, looks out and I’ll be damned if it isn’t this herd bull.
He rolls out of bed, walks 50m ranges him at 350yds and drops him with the man bun especial.
Silver star combat wounded -1/ elk - 0. Taped him out at 335.
Great start…. Almost…

Congrats to him, was he able to drive the truck up to it ?
Funny you should ask Snake…
So my buddy has already seen one large boar Griz and had to draw his gat piece on a sow that charged him. He let one fly as she closed inside 25ft. He fired a round and she spun rgr hell outta there, as she turned she nearly knocked him off his feet with her ass.
She peddled off back into the timber and two cubs appeared about 100yds away across the meadow, followed by a very angry momma bear. He was 9 miles in on the trail on foot with two more to go and another 1k to climb to our camp at 10,400ft.
Any who back to the truck…. Being a smart and seasoned back country guy, he knew a gut pile 350yds away and an elk hanging 15ft in a pine tree… being himself covered in blood… it probably wasn’t wise to sleep it off in his little big Agnes tent, and walk out in the morning .
In 12 years of hunting this drainage he has never lost an elk to a Griz… not today, unfortunately.
I guess momma bear had a hair up her a$$ and decided to get revenge. When we rode in on horses four days later we were blown away! Not only did that bee yatch climb 15 feet and swat down all his elk meat and head, she also decided, f yo couch, and proceeded to trash his tent, pop his air mattress, bite holes in his zero degree bag, and run off with a pare of socks and long underwear…God as my witness, I can’t make this stuff up.
As we surveyed the wreckage we found big bear poops and little bear poops…notice in pic eaten hind quarter and big bear poo.
Elk-0, buddy-0.5, Griz-.5… at least we managed his impressive 5x6 rack with an amazing front end scoring 335.
